Description
- At Relativity Space, the Quality team supports all production areas of hardware, ensuring high-quality 3D-printed parts and launch vehicles.
- The role involves performing detailed inspections of flight hardware, reviewing hardware requirements, and collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve quality issues.
- The position is on the first shift, with a schedule from 5:00AM to 3:30PM PT, Monday through Friday, with an expectation of a 50-hour workweek including occasional overtime.
- Responsibilities include using metrology tools such as micrometers, bore gauges, Romer arms, and CMMs, reviewing CAD models and drawings, and documenting inspection outcomes.
- The role requires at least 5 years of experience as a Quality Inspector, knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5, and experience with portable CMM arms and Verisurf software.
- The inspector will provide detailed reports and communicate effectively with various departments.

Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a Quality Inspector
- Demonstrated knowledge of GD&T, ability to review drawings and identify improper callouts/datum structures, according to ASME Y14.5
- Experience with metrology hand inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, bore gages, thread gages, optical comparator, etc.)
- Portable CMM Arm experience required, with sufficient Verisurf skills
- Proficient at documenting inspection outcomes via detailed reports (AS9102, NCR’s, etc.)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills – ability to effectively communicate with engineering, shop floor techs and/or other inspection personnel
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 lbs regularly
