Description
- Red 6 is an innovative Augmented Reality (AR) technology startup leading the way in synthetic air combat training.
- Our primary technology, supporting our ATARS product, enables pilots to simulate the cognitive challenges of flying while accessing realistic, scalable training in dynamic outdoor environments.
- We are seeking a Systems Engineer to support the design, integration, and management of the Airborne Tactical Augmented Reality System (ATARS).
- This role involves coordinating hardware and software development, ensuring system requirements are met, and supporting integration with military aircraft platforms.
- The Systems Engineer will work across multiple engineering disciplines—including hardware, software, avionics, optics, and AR displays—to ensure ATARS is delivered to specification and ready for operational use.
- Responsibilities include allocating system requirements, conducting trade studies, developing documentation, managing system resources, supporting hardware/software integration, overseeing system verification, participating in change control, managing risks, and supporting technical reviews.
- Requirements include 5+ years of systems engineering experience with complex systems, experience with hardware/software integration in aerospace or defense, familiarity with avionics and aircraft integration, strong analytical skills, proficiency with requirements management tools, and effective communication skills.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with AR/VR, military aircraft integration, knowledge of military standards, and a master's degree in a related field.
