  • Lansing, MI 48906 Why Work at Peckham - Peckham SUMMARY Will work in a small repair area repairing military organizational clothing and individual equipment.
  • These repairs will consist of rips that need to be sewn or stitched, seam seal repair, helmet and load bearing equipment repairing, etc.
  • The worker must be able to repair any type of gear with limited supervision.
  • All repairs need to be logged, by type and repair, tracking time taken to repair each garment.
  • The worker must be able to recognize discrepant 15-digit part numbers.
  • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Ability to use multiple sewing machines-Single Needle, Bartack, Pedestal Single Needle, Serger, Multiple Needle.
  • Ability to determine tools and process to conduct repairs.
  • Maintain equipment standards for use and cleaning.
  • Ability to use a Heat Seal Machine.
  • Ability to use a Grommet/Snap Press.
  • Enter computerized repair data and print tags.
  • Follow documented processes and procedures.
  • Read, write, and interpret repair details.
  • Must be able to recognize discrepant 15-digit part numbers.
  • Other Duties as assigned.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS At least 18 years old.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Must be able lift up to 40 pounds on a moderate basis.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Must gain and maintain necessary security clearances.
  • Basic math, ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Must be able to look at an item and determine what needs to be repaired and how to repair the item.
  • Basic English reading and writing skills.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Maintain respectful communication, give, and receive feedback.
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Skills acquired through Level 3 or 4 Sewing Machine Operator.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively.
