Description
  • As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer at Palo Alto Networks, you will be a key leader in the Manufacturing Engineering team, responsible for steering the product lifecycle from initial development to mass production and beyond.
  • You will support the launch and ongoing support of hardware products, ensuring seamless transition from design to factory and supply chain.
  • Your responsibilities include championing Design for Excellence (DFx), leading factory readiness, managing product lifecycle within PLM tools, driving process and change management, leading root cause analysis, providing sustaining engineering support, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • The role requires extensive collaboration with cross-functional teams and contract manufacturing partners to deliver industry-leading cybersecurity hardware products.
  • Qualifications include a relevant engineering degree, hands-on experience in DFM, DFA, FMEA, SPC, BOM reviews, SMT assembly, and proficiency with PLM software.
  • The position involves regular travel to Palo Alto Networks locations and working in a remote/hybrid environment.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on experience in DFM, DFA, FMEA, PFMEA, tolerance analysis, DoE, SPC, GR&R, and CpK.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools for component placement reviews.
  • Experience in SMT assembly processes including solder paste printing, pick-and-place, reflow, AOI, SPI.
  • Ability to read schematics, perform BOM reviews, and manage BOM ECOs.
  • Expertise in mechanical assembly, printed circuit boards, and electro-mechanical integration.
  • Proficiency with PLM software (e.g., Arena, Agile).
  • Proven track record of launching and sustaining complex electro-mechanical products.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers in low/medium volume, high-mix environments.
  • Experience with OEM, JDM, ODM product development models.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with technical and leadership stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel regularly to Palo Alto Networks locations.
