  • The Jr. Project Engineer will support the engineering execution of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects for data centers, from initial development through commissioning. This role involves technical coordination, design validation, and collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Location: This is a hybrid role located in Houston, TX or Reston, VA or Alpharetta, GA or Miami, FL.
  • Key Responsibilities include assisting in the end-to-end execution of BESS projects, serving as a technical resource, collaborating with customers, reviewing system designs, developing electrical drawings, preparing equipment specifications, performing system studies, supporting project scheduling, participating in site walks, assisting with factory and site acceptance testing, identifying technical risks, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes.
  • Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field, 0–3 years of experience, familiarity with energy storage systems and high-voltage infrastructure, understanding of electrical schematics, proficiency in Microsoft Office, basic AutoCAD and power system analysis tools, and willingness to travel up to 30%.
  • Preferred skills include understanding civil, mechanical, and structural aspects, problem-solving, attention to detail, and effective communication.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 0–3 years of engineering experience (internships or co-op experience acceptable).
  • Familiarity with energy storage systems (e.g., CATL, Sungrow, Tesla) and high-voltage infrastructure preferred.
  • Understanding of electrical schematics and system design fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; basic knowledge of AutoCAD and power system analysis tools (ETAP, SKM).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% for project site visits.
