- The New York Islanders Hockey Club is seeking a Director, Merchandising, a senior role responsible for developing and overseeing the merchandising strategy for the retail brand.
- The position involves partnering with the VP of Retail Operations to translate creative vision into market-ready products, managing visual and digital assortments, building seasonal merchandise plans, analyzing market data, and collaborating across departments.
- The role requires in-person work across multiple retail locations including UBS Arena, and attendance at games and events.
- The candidate will lead, mentor, and develop a team, manage inventory and costs, and present concepts to stakeholders.
- The position emphasizes strategic, creative, and operational excellence to enhance the brand and sales performance.

Requirements
- 5+ years of merchandising or retail buying experience
- 2+ years managing a team
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Up-to-date knowledge of retail design trends and best practices
- Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to act as a liaison between departments
- Understanding of business drivers (sales reports, history, trends)
- Business acumen
- Detail-oriented and process-oriented
- Passion and eye for product
- Ability to maintain regular and timely attendance
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for up to 8 hours
- Ability to operate a computer and office equipment for up to 8 hours
- Effective verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to carry equipment and move boxes/samples
