- Monumental is automating on-site construction with robotics and software, aiming to make construction primarily software-defined and enabling buildings to be built within a day with minimal labor.
- The team, composed mainly of engineers and technicians from top-tier companies, is based in Amsterdam and values in-office collaboration five days a week.
- The role involves developing software that interacts with physical robots, including control systems, CAD tools, path planning, telemetry, and distributed data storage.
- The tech stack includes TypeScript and Rust, with Rust code compiled to WebAssembly for UI integration.
- The engineer will design platform architecture, collaborate with hardware and control engineers, build management tools, and troubleshoot complex issues across the stack.
- The ideal candidate has experience with production systems, familiarity with Linux, communication protocols, and a strong ownership mindset.

Requirements
- Industry experience building and deploying production systems in multiple languages (Rust experience is valuable but not required)
- Basic familiarity with Linux systems and conventions, including SSH
- Knowledge of common communication protocols such as UDP, TCP/IP, and WebSockets
- A strong sense of ownership and motivation to drive problems and projects independently
- Experience as a technical founder, CTO, or founding engineer is a plus, but demonstrated impressive work at any company is also valued
