Description
  • The Warehouse & Equipment Coordinator supports the Department of Public Works (DPW) by maintaining accurate inventory, organizing warehouse operations, and coordinating preventive maintenance schedules for vehicles and heavy equipment. This position ensures that supplies, tools, and equipment are available, tracked, and service-ready to support public works operations and emergency response. The role focuses on coordination, scheduling, and record-keeping rather than direct mechanical or vendor management.
  • Responsibilities include receiving, storing, and issuing supplies; maintaining proper labeling and organization; tracking inventory levels; conducting cycle counts; generating reports; maintaining logs of vehicles and equipment; coordinating maintenance and repairs; submitting purchase requests; tracking deliveries; maintaining stock for emergency response; supporting warehouse response during emergencies; and performing other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications include an associate’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field (preferred), 2–4 years of experience in warehouse or inventory coordination, and a valid Louisiana driver’s license. Key skills include familiarity with inventory systems, organizational skills, effective communication, and knowledge of safety standards.
  • Personal qualities valued are work ethic, reliability, teamwork, and teachability. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, outdoor work, and availability for emergency support.
