Description
  • GFIC is seeking a Technical Support Specialist to deliver market-focused product advice, technical training, and hands-on support from lab trials to industrial scale-up.
  • The role involves guiding customers through lab, pilot, and industrial trials, troubleshooting, training sales teams, creating technical marketing materials, and supporting trade shows.
  • The ideal candidate has a background in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, or related fields, with at least 5 years of experience in product development or applications within the food sector.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards, laboratory work, and customer-facing support is essential.
  • Experience with hydrocolloids such as carrageenan, pectin, or stabilizer systems, and prior technical sales experience are advantageous.
  • The role is full-time, based in Spain (Barcelona), with flexible location options.

Requirements
  • Degree or advanced technician qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Food Biochemistry or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in product development, applications or production within food companies.
  • Strong knowledge of GLP, food safety (HACCP), hygiene, basic metrology and relevant market regulations.
  • Excellent spoken and written English; bilingualism is an advantage.
  • Comfortable with laboratory work and customer-facing technical support; open to travel.
  • Strong organisation, autonomy, teamwork and clear technical communication skills.
