At Convergent Research, we launch Focused Research Organizations (FROs), purpose-built teams of scientists and engineers tackling scientific bottlenecks that academia and industry aren’t structured to address. We move fast. We prioritize impact. We build infrastructure for scale.
As we grow across domains, borders, and headcount, we need increasingly scalable and compliant HR processes. That’s where you come in. We’re looking for a People Ops Manager to drive operational excellence in everything from payroll and HR compliance to HR analytics and recruiting ops. This role requires someone detail-obsessed, systems-thinking, highly analytical, and proactive, capable of bringing order to chaos and designing workflows that support scale.
You will build and maintain HR infrastructure across multiple legal entities, ensure accurate payroll processing, coordinate recruiting operations, audit policies, and stay ahead of HR law compliance. You will also own dashboards for headcount, turnover, and other metrics, and partner across teams to bring structure and HR expertise to the organization.
In 6 months, you will have launched scalable HR initiatives, improved reporting, managed payroll flawlessly, and implemented an HR compliance calendar. You will help ensure data accuracy and system reflection.
We offer the chance to impact scientific research infrastructure, with benefits including a 6% 401k match, comprehensive medical/dental/vision insurance, generous leave (3 weeks PTO, 19 holidays, sick and parental leave), fertility and childcare reimbursement, professional development, wellness allowances, and team retreats.
The salary range is $110,000–$155,000 per year, benchmarked to San Francisco market data, with adjustments based on location. The role is ideally located in the Washington DC–Boston corridor, with some flexibility for hybrid work in NYC.
