- The Risk Engineering Platform team at Coinbase is at the forefront of protecting the platform and millions of users from fraud and financial risks.
- They build scalable, flexible systems to detect and prevent fraud in real-time and scheduled workflows.
- The Software Engineer will design, develop, and optimize risk detection and mitigation systems, manage complex features from inception to deployment, collaborate with data science and risk teams, and contribute to system reliability and security.

Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in software engineering, with demonstrated ability to ship production systems
- Strong proficiency in at least one frontend framework (React, TypeScript)
- Experience building and maintaining distributed systems at scale
- Ability to independently manage complex tasks and work in unfamiliar systems with guidance
- Strong understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
- Experience with modern development practices including CI/CD, testing, and monitoring
- Experience with risk, fraud detection, or financial systems (preferred)
- Familiarity with machine learning models and their application in production (preferred)
- Experience with real-time event processing and streaming architectures (preferred)
- Knowledge of payment systems (ACH, cards, crypto) and associated fraud patterns (preferred)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) (preferred)
- Understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements (preferred)
