  • The Public Works Department develops and maintains Blue Springs’ infrastructure, providing essential services in civil engineering, street maintenance, water and sewer utilities, and fleet management.
  • The Sewer Maintenance Worker performs general maintenance and repair of the sanitary sewer system, including gravity sewer mains, manholes, and pump stations.
  • The position involves operating equipment such as sewer pipeline cleaning tools, CCTV, electrical meters, gas detectors, dump trucks, skid steer loaders, excavators, and snow plows.
  • Responsibilities include repairing equipment, performing maintenance on utility infrastructure, purchasing repair items, possibly leading a crew, responding to emergency calls after hours, and working in all weather conditions.
  • The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Class A CDL with endorsements or ability to obtain within 6 months, and 6 months to 1 year of related experience.
