Description
  • The Aztec Group is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team on a six-month contract. This role will focus on operationalising, optimising, supporting, and enhancing DevOps solutions and frameworks that underpin our cloud infrastructure and automation pipelines. The successful candidate will work to embed best practices and tools—developed both internally and by third-party providers—into production environments. The role will also support and enhance the framework of the cloud infrastructure and automation pipelines to enable rapid, reliable software delivery. Additionally, the role includes knowledge transfer and capability building to aid development of junior staff.
  • Key responsibilities include operationalisation and deployment of DevOps solutions with monitoring and observability, establishing CI/CD pipelines, improving performance and reliability, designing infrastructure for automation, ensuring compliance with security and data governance, proactively resolving issues, and maintaining monitoring systems such as Zoho Site24x7. The role also involves documenting processes, mentoring staff, and collaborating with development, QA, and product teams within an Agile environment.
  • Required skills include proven experience as a DevOps Engineer in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation), scripting skills (Python, Bash), containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and familiarity with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitLab CI). Experience with monitoring platforms like Zoho Site24x7, knowledge of security principles including Privileged Identity Management, and domain experience in financial services or asset management are highly desirable. Soft skills include problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and the ability to work independently.

Requirements
  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).
  • Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, etc.).
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, etc.).
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting platforms (Zoho Site24x7 highly desirable).
  • Familiarity with incident management and root cause analysis.
  • Knowledge of Privileged Identity Management (PIM) roles.
  • Strong understanding of least privilege security principles and experience implementing them.
  • Experience in financial services or asset management is highly desirable.
  • Scrum Master certification or experience facilitating Agile ceremonies is a plus.
  • Knowledge of code scanning tools (e.g., SonarQube).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver results within tight timelines.
