Description
- The Home Office Senior Underwriter – Casualty (GL) role provides technical underwriting expertise and guidance on General Liability matters to the SVP Leaders and Underwriters and acts independently as a Technical Expert on the casualty lines of business in support of the achievement of business plans and product development.
- Responsibilities include supporting the underwriting audit process, acting as referral authority, supporting policy language drafting, participating in committee meetings, mentoring staff, participating in research projects, staying informed on market trends, recommending risk appetite changes, leading portfolio management, supporting underwriting initiatives, developing underwriting guidelines, collaborating with product management, and assisting with special projects.
- Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree, 7-10 years of commercial underwriting experience, 5+ years in profitable General Liability underwriting in the E&S sector, strong technical knowledge of Casualty lines, coursework toward designations like CPCU or ASLI preferred, and excellent communication and organizational skills.

- Strong organizational, research skills and project management expertise are required.
- Ability to manage deadlines effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
